Operating systems:

• Microsoft Windows 10 Home / Pro / Enterprise / Education - 32 / 64-bit, version 1903 (the May 2019 Update)

As of November 2019, Avast Antivirus program versions 19.5 or lower are no longer compatible with the Windows 10, version 1903 (the May 2019 Update). Before your PC can update to this Windows 10 version, a setup dialog displays the applications that need your attention first. If Avast Antivirus appears in this dialog, refer to the instructions below to get the latest version of Avast Antivirus before updating your Windows 10.

Instructions

To update your Windows version, you first need to either update your current Avast Antivirus program or reinstall your preferred Avast Antivirus program:

A. To update

1. To update your currently installed Avast Antivirus program version, refer to the following article:
   • Updating Virus definitions and Avast Antivirus application version

You are now able to update your Windows 10 to the version 1903 (the May 2019 Update).

B. To reinstall

1. Before you reinstall Avast Antivirus, you need to uninstall your current version. For detailed instructions, refer to the following article:

2. To reinstall Avast Antivirus, refer to one of the following articles according to your preferred Avast program:

4. To activate your Avast Antivirus, refer to the following article according to the program you reinstalled in the previous step:

You are now able to update your Windows 10 to the version 1903 (the May 2019 Update).
